Tippecanoe High School

Where Excellence is a Tradition

Parents Who Care

THS Parents Who Care (PWC) is the independent group who supports our THS students with drug & alcohol-free social events during times when they are most vulnerable to making unhealthy and dangerous choices. Besides the AfterProm, which is our major activity, we also provide a Homecoming PowderPuff pregame meal for all players and coaches, organize the Homecoming Bonfire, provide funds to the Top Scholars Banquet and to Wellness Week activities and provide college scholarships to high school seniors. All PWC funds are derived from basketball concession sales and donations and ALL (100%) of the profits are returned to our students through these events. The fact that THS parents commit approximately 1000 hours of volunteer time annually to make these events possible is powerful testimony to their commitment to preserving these opportunities for their children.

Over the past 3 years alone, the THS AfterProm event has served over 900 students. Besides the event itself, which provides food and activities, PWC has awarded over $5000 in scholarship monies to senior students along with other gifts and prizes that are awarded at the AfterProm event. Our group and our many parent volunteers are committed to keeping our children safe at AfterProm and other PWC sponsored events. We are looking forward to providing our students with many more wonderful high school memories this year.

How do we accomplish our goals?

A majority of the fund-raising is during the Winter Sport season at Girls and Boys Basketball Game concessions and Chili Suppers. We count on many volunteers to make this a great success.  Working the concessions isn't only about raising money toward our After Prom, it is a chance to meet people in the community and a great way to get involved.

                        How can you get involved?

Everyone is welcome! Your support is what makes this organization a success for our students.  The best way to stay informed and become involved is by attending our monthly meetings or checking our website. Feel free to contact our officers or any active member! We always have a place for you!
