Wright Scholar Research Assistant Internship at WPAFB - Summer 2021
The Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB has a tremendous opportunity for high school juniors and seniors who plan on becoming our next generation of scientists, engineers, and medical professionals. The Wright Scholar Research Assistant program is a highly competitive 9-week summer internship for outstanding juniors and seniors interested in STEM careers. Students are selected based upon a “blind” review where all personal info is removed from the applications prior to being sent to the review panel, which alleviates any biases. Selectees are then matched with AFRL mentors, based upon student interest areas and mentor backgrounds/expertise, to conduct research projects as paid interns. Students may select their top three areas of interest from the following areas (based upon mentor participation): Aerospace Engr, Behavioral Science, Biology/Microbiology, Biomed, Chemical Engr, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Computer Engr/Science, Electrical Engr, Materials Engr, Mechanical Engr, Physics/Math. PLEASE NOTE: With the uncertainty of COVID-19 during 2021, our “live” events could become virtual and project work may have to be accomplished mainly through telework pending mentor’s advice, as was the case during the summer of 2020. Apply now!
