Supporting Youth Mental Health Night
Do you know a child or young adult struggling with anxiety, depression, self-worth, grief and loss, suicide ideation, family strife, or other mental health concerns?
Join us on April 14th, 2021 at 7 pm EST for a Supporting Youth Mental Health Night. This is a FREE interactive, parent-focused, virtual event centered around youth mental health. Please register for this event.
Highlights of the event include:
- The event will be facilitated by a leading clinical psychologist, Dr. Kevin Skinner.
- There will be a Hope Squad Parent Panel including, Lynn Mangan and Mary Eppstein, on the call to share insights and to answer questions.
- Attendees will walk away with valuable mental health resources.
- All parents/guardians are welcome to attend!
End of Course Spring Testing
Spring testing will take place April 12th - April 19, 2021. The Spring testing window is used for initial testing. The EOC Spring testing schedule is below, these testing days will operate on a two-hour delay schedule.
April 12 - ELA II Part I / Government
April 13 - ELA II Part II / Biology
April 14 - Makeups (any student who missed ELA II, Government or Biology needs to report in the morning)
April 15 - Algebra I Part I / Geometry Part I
April 16 - Algebra I Part II / Geometry Part II
April 19 - Makeups (normal school day bell schedule)
Edison State to Honda Manufacturing
Edison State Community College has teamed up with Honda to develop a direct pathway to lead students into a manufacturing career at Honda. Equipment Service Technicians are currently in demand at Honda and require technical and analytical skills to identify and solve problems quickly. The Edison State to Honda Manufacturing Pathway program will help prepare students with the skills needed to take on these in-demand roles. For more information, please click here.
Summer Scholars Program
Miami University's Summer Scholars Program is a selective two-week program that provides a rich, early college experience for academically talented, rising high school juniors and seniors from across the globe. Students will get a glimpse of life on campus as they dive into a specific academic program with faculty and other students who share their interests. Students who attend Summer Scholars and then apply for undergraduate admission to Miami receive priority consideration for Miami merit scholarships and selective programs. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2021.
UF Pharmacy Summer Camp
The University of Findlay will be hosting their 14th annual Pharmacy Summer Camp. This year, they will be providing two different dates to choose from - June 20-23 or July25-28, 2021. This overnight camp is open to any high school student who will be a junior or senior in the Fall of 2021. For seniors, one of the benefits of attending camp is that they will be given the opportunity to interview for their program on the last day of camp.
The two camps will be held on the campus of the University of Findlay. All meals and snacks will be provided through the University of Findlay dining services. Each camp has availability for 50 students on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is open now. Students who have registered may request a refund up until June 14th.
The College of Pharmacy faculty is looking forward to meeting potential future pharmacists!

Edison State Waives Tuition Fee
Edison State Community College announced that it will waive tuition for qualifying 2021 high school graduates. The tuition waiver applies to courses offered both online and in-person, according to a release from the college. The waiver covers the cost of tuition, which includes instructional fees, general fee, technology fee, activity fee, and career services fees, but students are responsible for lab fees, security fees, books, or additional fees.

OACAC Virtual College Fairs
We are excited to announce that OACAC will once again partner with StriveScan to host virtual college fairs! StriveScan’s 6x6 Virtual College Fair format provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide range of post-secondary options in a lively and safe environment.
Since last spring, StriveScan has hosted virtual college fairs and other virtual college admission programs nationwide, with over 300,000 students and 2,000 colleges and universities participating. We are partnering with StriveScan to create a unique opportunity for colleges, universities and organizations to connect with students, parents and school counselors in our state.

Virtual College Fairs
Tuesday, February 23 *and Wednesday, February 24
Wednesday, March 24 *and Thursday, March 25
5:00 - 7:45 PM Eastern Time
After registration closes, participants will be assigned by us to a group with 5 other institutions (total of 6 colleges per group). Your group’s session will be 45-minutes long, allowing for each institution to present for 6 minutes.
Throughout the entire 45 minutes, students will be able to ask questions via chat.
There will be multiple concurrent group sessions happening each hour.
Students will register through StriveScan for each group session they want to attend.
All 6 institutions in the group will receive the StriveScan student data for all of the students who registered for your group’s session.
Your total time commitment is approximately one hour.
Sessions are hosted by StriveScan via Zoom Webinars (students will not be on camera).
Sinclair CCP Information / Q&A Sessions
As we look towards the 2021-2022 academic year, we want to make sure our students and families have opportunities to review all of the College Credit Plus information from both the State of Ohio and Sinclair, in order to make solid decisions for the next school year.
To help with this we are hosting several Virtual CCP Information Presentations as well as a series of Question & Answer sessions. We hope that these will provide our students and families with all of the information needed to be successful with CCP.
