• Tippecanoe High School Color Guard/Winter Guard

Tippecanoe High School Color Guard and Winter Guard is comprised of 20 talented performers in Tipp City, Ohio. The Tippecanoe Color Guard was established in 2006 and has continued to grow each year, earning at least a I/II rating at OMEA State Competition for the last three years during our fall season with the THS marching band. The winter guard competes in the Mid East Performance Association (MEPA) circuit during our winter season and placed 4th at MEPA Championships in 2010, just missing out on a medalist position by a few points.

The art and activity of color guard and winter guard is one that combines quality music with an effective visual presentation. The THS Color Guard's goal is to provide our students and audiences with both a highly competitive, yet equally entertaining marching band and winter guard show through consistent and positive instruction. Our members are students who are enthusiastic and have a desire to learn and be a part of a growing and competitive group at the high school. As one team of instructors, students and parents, we work together to achieve the goals the students and staff have set for the season. Although color guard is considered a visual art form, it is also a physically demanding activity and is commonly referred to as the "Sport of the Arts." Color guard and winter guard members rehearse 6-20 hours per week and participate in weekly conditioning so they can increase their strength, stamina and performance level.
