Mr. Tyler Hoffman
I grew up in South Dakota on our family farm and later attended college at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. I graduated from Northern State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, majoring in secondary education with emphasis in Biology, also with a coaching wrestling endorsement. My family has had great success in showing sheep of which has allowed me to make many connections including meeting my wife, as well as, provide a network to allow me a unique opportunity to do my student teaching in Covington, OH. After graduating, I began teaching in a small rural town in Ellendale, ND. I taught grades 7-12 Life Science and was also head wrestling coach for 4 years. After five years in ND, my wife and I embarked on a dream of mine to come back to Ohio. I spent one year at Troy Jr. High as a 7th grade long-term substitute. I am beginning my seventh year at Tippecanoe High School teaching CP Earth's Environment and Anatomy/Physiology.
I enjoy being outdoors, grilling, and helping with wrestling. We have two sons; Chaz born in February and Titus who is 5.
It is my role as an educator that I assist in that journey. My role as a science teacher is to inspire kids not only in the classroom but also in life. It is my goal to teach students to believe in themselves. It is important for the young student to set goals and work to achieve them. My goal is to have a fun interactive classroom that is geared towards active learning. Enthusiasm is very important to hold the attention of students. It is vital to make learning fun in order to make learning a memorable and enjoyable experience. Every kid can learn and it is important as an educator that they do.
