Welcome to a new school year! We are excited to have you and your child as part of our learning community. Broadway Elementary is fortunate to have an experienced, dedicated, and professional staff. If you are a new parent to Broadway, we hope that you get involved and enjoy the experiences that are here for your children. Your involvement enriches learning and our school.
Since I am new to Broadway, I would like to give you a little background about myself. I grew up with my family in Greenville, Ohio, which is also where I began my teaching career 18 years ago. I began teaching in a kindergarten/title one classroom at Gettysburg Elementary. My husband and I decided to move south and I taught first grade in Orlando, Florida. I was given many opportunities as an educator while in Orlando as I was the Reading Coach (K-5) and also served as the Curriculum Specialist for my elementary building. As we decided to move back to the Ohio area, my husband and I felt like Tipp City was the perfect fit for us. We moved here almost 8 years ago with our three children, Peyton, Caiden, and Kenna. I began teaching in Vandalia as the Gifted Intervention Specialist for grades 3, 4, and 5. The last two years I served as the Gifted Intervention Secialist as well as teaching Language Arts and Social Studies to 4th and 5th graders.
This school year we will continue to challenge our students so that they can grow as learners. We are delighted that you are part of the Broadway family and we are looking toward a fabulous year! Please feel free to call, email, or stop in the office if you have any questions.
