Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Matt Lieber
Welcome to Mr. Lieber's Website
I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2006 with my Bachelor of Sciences degree where I majored in Human Development and Family Sciences. I then completed my Masters in Middle Childhood Education at The Ohio State University in 2007. This is my 13th year teaching and my fifth with Tipp City. Previously, I taught in Vandalia- Butler City Schools for 8 years. I have taught fourth grade for 7 years teaching Math and Social Studies and one year teaching 7th grade Math.
I currently live in Tipp City, Ohio with my wife of 12 years. We have three children, Madilyn, Michael, and Jaxon. Jaxon is 3 but has almost outgrown his older brother! Michael turned six last March and is starting first grade this fall! Our daughter, Madilyn, who is 9 and will be in fourth grade here at LT Ball. Here is an updated picture of us.
I will be teaching Math and Social Studies this year. Our POD will include Miss Mack (Language Arts and Science), as well as Mrs. Dawson (Math and Language Arts). I am a HUGE fan of the following teams: The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Browns. I am usually told that I have chosen 2 out of 3 correct.
I believe in educating every child. I believe the way in which we teach children can greatly influence their achievement. I believe in choosing activities that relate to the standards as well as the students’ real life. I believe that these activities should be hands-on. I believe that my passion for learning can be taught to students. I believe that using humor in the classroom can greatly increase the sense of community in a classroom as well as enhance the students’ willingness to learn.
