Mrs. Raeanne Wirrig

Hello! I am so excited to be coming back to school-- whatever that may look like this year! This will be my fourth year teaching, and I am very excited to have American History and Psychology back in my curriculum! In the past I have taught Sociology and History of Popular Culture.

I grew up in Xenia, Ohio, and I attended Carroll High School in Dayton where I played Varsity soccer and participated in the National Honors Society, as well as theater, choir, and several other extracurricular activities. I graduated from the University of Dayton in 2017 with Magna Cum Laude Honors. During my time at the college, I played many recreational sports and served as a Resident's Assistant supervising Sophomore students and implementing a co-curricular and residential curriculum. I was awarded the Distinguished Leader Award, the Faith and Conviction Award, and I was placed in the Housing and Residence Life Hall of Fame for my efforts in the Department. In the last three years at Tippecanoe, I have become involved in the Women's Soccer program, serving as a JV coach, the Octagon Service Program, and I am a leader of the Link Crew Freshman Transition Program.

I am passionate about teaching Social Studies because I am fascinated by people. It is ordinary people--like the students in my classroom--that face challenging circumstances and make the extraordinary decisions that create our history and impact our present. The social sciences can be so complex, but they are also so completely personal, and I love bringing that energy into the classroom. My background in Residential curriculums has fostered my interest in student development, which also inspires the way I approach learning in the classroom. When I am not at school, I enjoy playing soccer and cheering on the Dayton Flyers, though most of my "free" time is consumed by furniture shopping with my husband for our new house! I am really looking forward to this school year, and I appreciate your grace as I continue to grow in my journey as an educator.

I am always available for questions or concerns, so please feel free to contact me at the email address or telephone number listed above.

Go Red Devils!
