Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Chris Zink
I would like to share some information about me, so you have an idea about one of the people responsible for helping your child have a successful year.
B.S – Childhood Studies: University of New Hampshire – Plymouth
M.Ed – Special Education K-12: University of New Orleans
Educational Leadership Principal Licensure - University of Dayton
I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and I'm a die hard Patriots fan. After graduating college, I taught in New Hampshire and later moved to New Orleans. I taught there for five years as well as coached football and track. After Hurricane Katrina my wife and I decided that New Orleans wasn’t the best place for us to start a family, so at the end of that school year, we moved to Troy. My wife is originally from Troy, and if you attended Troy City Schools you probably had one or both of her parents (Fred and Carolynn McDougall). Since moving to Ohio, I have taught and coached in Sidney, Vandalia and Northmont. I'm entering my 21st year in education, my second at Tippecanoe High School, first as your principal, and I couldn’t be happier!
My wife also works in education and is the Coordinator of Gifted Services for the district and the Curriculum Specialist for grades 9-12 in Northmont City Schools. We have two boys; Noah who is in 7th grade and Caden who is in 3rd grade.
My philosophy is that an administrator should strive to create positive change both in their building and in the lives of others. This belief is grounded in my belief in the importance of relationships.
My commitment to you is that I will do everything in my power to make Tippecanoe High School a place where everyone wants to be, not a place they have to come to. I am devoted to developing an environment that fosters growth of the whole child, not just what they can do in the classroom. I will work to establish a sense of belonging for all students and staff, by promoting a positive and supportive environment for all and will do my part to uphold Tipp City Schools tradition of excellence.
In my short time working for Tipp City Schools I have had the pleasure of meeting many people. There is a strong sense of community here and I'm honored to be welcomed into it. I truly look forward to the opportunity to work with you and to help your child achieve their goals. Let's make this a great year!
