Ms. Jodi Shearer

Hi!! My name is Jodi Shearer and I will be teaching 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade Math Intervention at Tippecanoe Middle and High Schools.  Although it will be my first year teaching in Tipp City, I have previous teaching experience in Lexington, Kentucky.  I am excited to be a part of the continuing success here at the Tipp City Exempted Village Schools as a Math Intervention Specialist.  I graduated from the Univeristy of Kentucky with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and received my Masters degree in Education from Georgetown College.  I love traveling, reading, movies, UK basketball and Ohio State football.  I now live in Tipp City. I am the proud Mom of two daughters, one a University of KY graduate in Engineering and the youngest who is a marketing graduate from Eastern Kentucky University.

Over the course of being a parent and now an educator, I am aware of the impact teachers can have on the lives of their students.  I have always been a huge supporter of frequent home-school communication.  It is my hope that this will be the basis for a great deal of dialogue and communication between us.  We'll discuss your child, what's happening in our classroom, ways you can support your child's lerning at home, and ways that I can extend what you do at home here at school.

As your child's Case Manager, I will provide suppoort and assistance to your child so that he/she can have a positive and successful learning experience.  I work with the classroom teachers to help students understand lessons taught in the classroom, encourage completion of assignments, help with study strategies, and provide accomodations to aid in the learning process.

Together we can help your student succeed.  I believe that when a parent and teacher communicatie regularly about a child, the child often has a happier, more successful school year.  The more I know about your child, the better I can effectively meet his/her needs in my classroom.

This will be an exciting year!!!  Please feel free to contact me anytime with comments or questions.  The BEST way to contact me is by email jshearer@tippcity.k12.oh.us

All my best for a great school year!!!
