How fun is this? Tippecanoe Middle School students Makayla Utz and Bryce Westfall now have their work printed on 6,000 stickers that will travel across Ohio and beyond with the Downtown Tipp City Partnership! ✨👏In Heather Combs’ Graphic Design class, students learned about marketing and branding from DTCP Executive Director Tasha Weaver and were challenged to create sticker designs representing Tipp City’s past, present, and future. From dozens of creative entries, Makayla’s and Bryce’s designs were selected as the winners.👍🏻😊💪🏻The students were recognized at the Partnership’s annual dinner, appeared on a Podcast, and were surprised again this week with gift bags in front of their peers at the end-of-quarter assembly. 🎁 What an exciting and memorable way to celebrate their creativity, talent, and hard work!🎤🙌🏻🎉As she congratulated the students, Tasha Weaver said, “Now I’ll get to share these amazing stickers when I travel. They help tell the story of Tipp City and show other communities the creativity and pride that exists right here. Makayla and Bryce, your designs really stood out. Ball Intermediate students Zoey Perry (grade 3) and Hadley Land (grade 4), who were honored at the monthly Board of Education meeting with the Outstanding Solo Performance Award for their performances in the winter program. Zoey was recognized for her beautiful voice and for stepping in to learn additional lyrics when another soloist was absent. Hadley was honored for her lovely solo after being chosen by her teacher, Molly Sanders, to perform. 🍀🐍 Students in Jessica Martin’s class at Broadway Elementary put their problem-solving and engineering skills to the test during a fun, hands-on challenge! Using simple materials, students designed and built creative devices to lift their “snakes” (gummy worms) out of Ireland and into the surrounding ocean. Ball Intermediate 4th-grade students are working with Artist in Residence Chris Rowlands to write an original song inspired by the Miami County Watershed Project. 🎶💧Through this special experience, students are collaborating with a professional musician and songwriter to create and perform a piece of original music connected to their learning.🎵🎤The students will perform their song with Chris Rowlands during the district’s Elevate the Arts Night on April 9 at 5:00 PM at the Tippecanoe High School CPA.
