Tippecanoe High School student Kaylyn Schultz

The Ohio Business Professionals of America leadership selected Tippecanoe High School sophomore Kaylyn Schultz to represent Ohio as a National Executive Officer Candidate for BPA!

Advisor, mentor, and teacher Dara Hardyman said, "This is a huge honor!"

Kaylyn picked Taylor Galvez as her campaign manager. The two students are the founding members of the Tipp City Chapter of BPA.

Kaylyn is the president of the school's chapter and the Region 3 Parliamentarian.

When asked why she wanted to pursue this opportunity, Kaylyn said,  "Running for National Executive Officer is something I have thought about doing ever since I joined Business Professionals of America. BPA has helped me become a better leader, communicator, and overall helped me learn many skills I can use in the workforce in the future. Last year during my first year as a part of this organization I ran to be a state officer and went through the screening process again this year. After going through the state officer process again this year, I realized that I wanted to do something bigger than that, not only serving the state of Ohio but all of America, and running for National Executive Officer was the perfect thing for that. "

Brenna Bartlett, Assistant Director for Career Technical Education with the Ohio Department of Education, wrote, " I am pleased to recommend Kaylyn Schultz as a National Officer Candidate representing the state of Ohio. As the Business Professionals of America (BPA), Ohio Association Board President and Interim State Advisor, I am confident in stating that Kaylyn will make valuable contributions to the national officer team due to her determination, enthusiasm, and leadership skills. Kaylyn is an active, dedicated and genuine young woman who is eager to assist and lift up others. Through her leadership at the local and regional levels and through participation in state events, Kaylyn has demonstrated her willingness to work with others, continue to find opportunities to improve, and to share her immense passion for the growth of our organization. I believe Kaylyn’s ingenuity, perseverance and heart make her an exceptional candidate for BPA National Office."

Her advisor calls Kaylyn a shining star. "She has worked diligently to learn all she could about BPA and its history, and she has professionally communicated with State and National directors."

The National Leadership Conference will be held April 26-30 in Anaheim, California. This conference is known as the ultimate event for Business Professionals of America members.
