Kari Hake

Tipp City Schools is pleased to announce that Kari Hake has officially begun her role as principal of L.T. Ball Intermediate School.

District Superintendent Aaron Moran shared, "Her deep commitment to academic growth, relationship-building, and community engagement makes her an ideal fit to lead L.T. Ball Intermediate into its next chapter."

Hake brings over two decades of educational experience, a strong understanding of the district, and a passion for student success. A respected educator and instructional leader, she most recently served as the Instructional Coach and Literacy Specialist at Broadway Elementary School. Known for her relationship-driven leadership and dedication to instructional excellence, Hake brings an enthusiastic, student-centered approach to this new role.

"I am truly honored and excited to serve as the principal of L.T. Ball Intermediate School," said Hake. "I look forward to working alongside our talented staff, supportive families, and incredible students to continue building a learning environment where all children feel welcomed, supported, and ready to learn." She believes every student can thrive when given the proper support.

Throughout her career with Tipp City Schools, Hake has served as a kindergarten and third-grade teacher, led Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives, supported gifted education, and played a key role in curriculum development and district-wide strategies for student growth. Her expertise in literacy coaching and building-level leadership has been widely respected.

To support a smooth transition, Hake is already engaging in staff meetings, classroom visits, and family outreach opportunities to build connections and gather feedback. Her early priorities include supporting high-quality instruction, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders.

"I believe a school community works best when we have shared goals for students," Hake added. "I look forward to listening, learning, and leading L.T. Ball with energy, purpose, and pride."

Beyond the district, Hake has contributed to statewide educational initiatives, including being featured in a PBS and Ohio Department of Education video series focused on best practices in English Language Arts instruction. PBS honored her work and recognized it with a regional Emmy Award.
