The virtual awards ceremony for Power of the Pen competition was held Saturday. Congratulations to the Tippecanoe Middle School writers who placed in the top 12 as individuals and to our 8th grade team for its 2nd place win! The 7th grade team will take 4 of 5 writers to Regional competition, and the 8th grade team will take 4 of 6 writers to Regional competition. WOW!
Special congratulations to 7th grader Elijah Ramos who placed 7th place out of 57 writers; 8th grader Lucy McClure who placed 12th out of 59 writers; and,
8th Avery Anderson who placed 5th out of 59 writers.

The district initiated a Voice Call Alert earlier this evening to inform families of the district's Snow Day for Thursday, February 3rd. Due to the volume of calls being made, the vendor is still processing these messages. The district shared the information on the website, social media platforms, and local media and via an email. Due to impending weather and potential travel issues for several honorees, the Hall of Fame Induction scheduled for February 4th is cancelled. Our AD is working with inductees to reschedule, mostly likely in the spring. #tippathletics

The boys are at Mad River.
And, due to the uncertainty of the timeline of when the weather will hit, the wrestling meet at Greenville is cancelled. We hope to reschedule it.

Join us in saying "Good Luck" to our 7th and 8th grade Power of the Pen teams competing at districts this Saturday, January 29th. The Tippecanoe Middle School students will write in three 40-minute rounds using prompts given to them at the beginning of each round. Their creative stories will be judged against the work from writers all over the area. They will rack up points individually and as a team. They must qualify to move on to regional competition in March. #WEareTIPP
