Today Miami County Animal Shelter in Troy presented Tippecanoe Middle School 8th grader Ava Hanrahan with a Certificate of Appreciation for her successful pet supply drive. Because of her leadership, strong organization skills, and the generosity of our community, she collected more than 700 items!! (Her goal was 50 donations.) On behalf of the shelter and commissioners, shelter manager Rob Craft expressed gratitude for Ava's community service project!

WDTN-TV interviewed THS freshman Carson Hughes and his mom(a pastor) to learn about their toy drive for the children of the tornado that leveled the city of Mayfield, Kentucky-their former hometown. New toys can be dropped off at our schools. Ends Thursday. #WEareTIPP


Broadway Elementary students packed their suitcases, grabbed their passports, and took off on a trip around the world. Third graders visited each classroom to learn about another country, how a winter holiday is celebrated elsewhere, and create a craft symbolic of the country's celebration. #WEareTIPP #holidaysaroundtheworld

Some LT Ball 5th graders presented their science projects to Dr. Martin English, Director of Junior Academy Council of the Ohio Academy of Science. A Tipp City family with students enrolled in our district previously lived in Mayfield, Kentucky, one of the hardest hit areas by the tornado over the weekend. They are collecting toys for families and plan to drive to Mayfield this weekend to deliver the gifts. Broadway, LT Ball, Tippecanoe Middle School and Tippecanoe High School are collecting new toys if you would like to donate. This is a quick turn around as all items need to be at one of the schools by the end of school on Thursday, December 16th. #WEareTIPP


The Tippecanoe High School Wrestling Team finished 2nd this weekend at the Tipp Red Devil Invitational. Tipp had seven wrestlers in the finals. Oliver Murray, Sean Kelly, and Alex Shellhammer placed first in their weight class. Finishing 2nd: Elliot Abrams, Noah Schwieterman, Payton Bey, Collin Hanrahan. Other top competitors: Cael Liette, 3rd; Riley Hull, 3rd; Gavin Newburg 4th; Henry Murray 138, 5th. CONGRATULATIONS!

Today we share a story of kindness and generosity! Tippecanoe Middle School 8th grader Ava Hanrahan had an idea for a community service project and after speaking with her principal Diane Voress this is what happened! Ava asked her classmates and TMS staff to donate items for the Miami County Animal Shelter in Troy. She hoped to get about fifty items but far exceeded her expectations! Boxes she and her mother decorated are overflowing with toys, treats, food, blankets, and more. Donations are still being added. The family intends to load the donations after school on Friday. #WEareTIPP
