Welcome to Tippecanoe High School
Thank you for visiting Tippecanoe High School.
Tippecanoe High School is a special place to learn. THS has long been ranked among the top high schools in the country by US News and World Report. Our students consistently rank among the top in the Miami Valley area on state assessments and college entrance exams.
Tippecanoe offers a rigorous program of studies that includes accelerated and Advanced Placement courses. THS also partners with Franklin University, Sinclair Community College, Edison State Community College, and the University of Cincinnati to provide our students the opportunity to earn college credit. Some students do this on campus by taking courses taught by THS teachers. Our graduates report that they are well-prepared for college as a result of their education at THS.
In addition to our stellar core curriculum, THS students can choose from a wide range of electives, including Fine Arts, Technology and Business, Engineering, Homebuilding, and Family and Consumer Sciences courses. For those musically inclined, THS offers marching, concert, and jazz bands as well as symphonic and concert choirs.
Students at Tippecanoe have a plethora of extracurricular and co-curricular activities to match their interests. We have a robust Academic Team that has been an Ohio and National standout for years and competes throughout the Midwest. THS has a local chapter of the National Honor Society, a student senate, and various clubs. Our theater productions provide an outstanding showcase for our talented students.
Our athletic teams compete in the Miami Valley League. We offer ten varsity sports for men and women. In the 2020-2021 school year, THS athletes had a banner year. The football team won two playoff games. The soccer team finished as State Runner-up. The volleyball team advanced to the State Final Four. The girls basketball team enjoyed an undefeated season; the boys basketball team was District champions, and the state-rankers baseball team was District Runner-up.
Tippecanoe High School is affiliated with Miami Valley Career Technology Center, which offers 47 different vocational and Tech Prep courses of study as an alternative to the general and college-preparatory education programs. While we are proud of the attributes listed on paper, we are even prouder of the intangibles that our students and staff bring to the building. You can see it in the classrooms and on the playing field and hear it from our student musicians. That intangible is called spirit. Our students and staff are proud of the tradition of excellence at Tipp City Schools, and they strive every day to uphold that tradition in everything they do.
Go Red Devils!
