📆Tipp City Schools is working to create an academic calendar that is consistent from year to year. 💭 This could include starting school the 3rd full week of August and having the last day of classes on the Friday before Memorial Day. 🏫 Families are invited to attend a meeting to provide input for the potential changes to the school calendar, including late starts versus early releases for Professional Development for all grade levels. 📅

🏙️Teaching third graders about local government is a great way to introduce them to the concepts of civic engagement, community participation, and how decisions are made in their city. 🗳️ Some Broadway Elementary students were sworn into their new "city council roles" as part of their lesson on local government. City Council President Kathryn Huffman engaged the students in interactive activities to help them understand how local government functions. ⚖️They held a city council meeting where they discussed and voted on starting the school day later and offering free ice cream to all students.🍦#localgovernment #WEareTIPP #civiclesson

📚First-grade students in Amy Blake's class, with student-teacher Kya Goodman, did a book study on author/illustrator Mo Willems. Students were introduced to his newest book, The Pigeon Will Ride the Rollercoaster! 🎢They made puppets to retell the story and did a stem activity designing their own roller coaster with them riding in it with the pigeon!😊
