⭐🔨🚌This week, we celebrated an exciting milestone as Tipp City Schools officially opened our new Operations Center, home to our transportation, custodial, and maintenance teams and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our district running every day.
❤️🏫 This new facility is giving our teams the space and resources to do their jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively, with room for buses, materials, trailers, equipment, and coordinated operations that support every school. 🚌🛠️Thank you to the Board of Education, our dedicated crews, and our project partner, Level MB. 🌟 Staff Highlight: Maria Lozoya, L.T. Ball Intermediate ELL Educational Assistant. 🌟 Maria is the kind of person who usually works quietly behind the scenes, happy to watch students shine. But this week, we’re shining the spotlight on her. 🙌🏻🏫This school year at L.T. Ball, Maria started greeting students at the front door each morning. It was only supposed to last a week to help third graders who were new to the building feel welcome, comfortable, and confident about where to go. 👍🏻Then something unexpected happened. In the second week, when Maria stayed in her classroom, students stopped by just to ask why she wasn’t at the door anymore. Maria laughed and asked, “So now you expect me to be by the door every morning?” Their answer? A big YES! ✅So she went back because that simple “good morning” mattered. And little by little, more students started greeting back… until they weren’t waiting for her anymore. They were leading the way with confident, cheerful good mornings of their own. 👋🏻Maria began counting:

🌟 Highest so far: 300+
But the best part isn’t the number. It’s what it represents: students choosing to start their day with kindness, energy, and connection. 🏊‍♀️ Congratulations to Tippecanoe High School swimmer Adelyn Deppen, our Athlete of the Week! 👏Coach Bathgate shared that Adelyn began swimming competitively as a freshman and has grown into one of the top distance swimmers in the Miami Valley League. She shines in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, and this season she’s made huge time drops—more than 23 seconds in the 200 and 34 seconds in the 500! ⏱️🔥Adelyn also pushes herself by taking on new events, all while bringing a positive attitude, strong effort, and a team-first mindset. 🛠️ 💻Students in our Tippecanoe High School Introduction to Technology course went beyond the screen and straight into the hardware, taking computers apart to see how they really work. ⌨️💽Working in small groups, students explored CPUs, RAM, storage drives, and motherboards, connecting everyday technology to how information is actually processed.⚙️👨‍💻👩‍💻This highly engaging, hands-on course is designed for students curious about computers and digital systems and provides a strong foundation for future tech courses and careers. 🏀Congratulations to Tippecanoe Middle School basketball player Bryce Bruns, our TMS Athlete of the Week! Coach Games shared that Bryce started the season strong before being forced to sit out much of the first half due to a football injury. Even while in therapy, he came to practice every day to stay up to speed on plays and support his teammates. Bryce returned for the second half of the season and picked up right where he left off—scoring, rebounding, playing solid defense, and leading the team. 🌟 Staff Spotlight 🌟When the unexpected happens, it takes incredible people to step up, and Tippecanoe High School Intervention Specialist Matt Burgbacher did just that.✨🏫📘When a math teacher left at the end of the semester with little notice, we had to think fast to ensure continuity for our students. Mr. Burgbacher jumped right in without hesitation, rolling up his sleeves and getting to work, never complaining, just doing what needed to be done. 👏🏼 With his experience in the subject matter and familiarity with the curriculum and expectations, he made the transition seamlessly, keeping students learning, engaged, and supported.🗣️ THS principal Katherine Weaver said, “Matt has been unbelievably flexible and positive through this transition. He stepped in, adapted quickly, and did whatever it took to support our students.
