From Tippecanoe High School Athletic Director Kregg Creamer: The Red Devils played well in the OHSAA Div. I District Golf Tournament at Pipestone Golf Course. Tippecanoe shot a team score of 323 to tie for 7th place in the SW District Tournament. 👏🏻The top three teams ( 16 teams competed) and the top three individuals (96 total golfers) qualified for the 2024 OHSAA State Div. I Tournament. 🏌️This finish for Tippecanoe is the highest in many years. Eli Voisard was the only Red Devils senior and finished his THS career with a birdie on #18! 👍👏Our next shoutout goes to football player Anthony "AJ" Ruiz, the Tippecanoe Middle School Athlete of the Week. 🏈Coach Craft said, "Anthony has continually set the standard for discipline on and off the field. 🏈He approaches practice with a commitment to his improvement and consistency as a contributor to the offensive side of the ball. AJ also possesses a keen sense of awareness on the defensive side of the ball, with the way he reads offensive plays and then reacts to disrupt the opponent's outcome. AJ doesn't possess a big body frame, but the discipline and commitment to the game and his team display the heart of a lion on the practice field and game time. 💥He is a great teammate and one of our best leaders on both sides of the ball. 👏👏👏Congratulations to Tippecanoe Middle School Athlete of the Week, Vaeda Trouteaud, a member of the cross country team. Coach Knapke said, "Vaeda decided to join our XC squad as an 8th grader, and we are so glad she did!! 😊She continues to improve, and her hard work is not going unnoticed! 🏃♀️Thus far in the season, Vaeda has cut a whopping 1 minute and 25 seconds off her first meet time. ⏲️She recently competed in the Dave Lightle Invitational, crushing her previous best time by almost 20 seconds and running a time of 15:51.2. 😊Vaeda always has a smile on her face and has become an important vocal leader for our girls team.🎉 Before or after her race, Vaeda can be seen running around, supporting other runners along the course. 🏃♀️She is the ultimate teammate and would do anything for anybody at any time. Last week Levi stepped into the role of quarterback for an injured teammate, and led the team to their first win of the season, beating Piqua 22-20. Levi led the team in rushing, scoring on two long touchdown runs while he continued to lead our defense as inside linebacker."
